Final day of #CWU16 begins with Ben Ridden and Lenny May moving and supporting motion 105 which instructs the Postal Executive to secure changes to Attendance Procedure to include a sympathetic approach for absences caused by conditions not automatically covered by the equality act. The motion was not carried
Steve and Bob move and support motion 107 on behalf of North East Divisional Committee, the motion asking for an urgent review of the reps discipline procedure with specific regard to enhancing step 3, the motion was carried.
Motion 111 instructing the Postal Executive to enter into negotiations with RM to secure appeals process for each step of review stages in Attendance Procedure. Motion was carried.
Motion 112 Conference agrees that when sick notes are provided, no pay shall be stopped/suspended whilst members are on sick leave. Motion was carried.
Minutes silence impeccably observed at CWU conference for Workers Memorial Day.
Laura supports motion 118 which instructs the Postal Executive to ensure Deputy Area Reps employed by POL are invited to national briefings where POL Area Reps have an invite. A card vote was taken
Our motion was accepted which instructs the Postal executive to pursue the existing policy as a matter of urgency that all shift allowances be 100% pensionable for all members working in Royal Mail.
Motion 137 - Now that SA's are paid whilst on annual leave it is now time to negotiate an increase to the maximum number of SA hours that can be held and that with any new agreement the additional hours will qualify for the SA holiday pay when on annual leave. The motion was carried unanimously.
Motion 140 instructs the Postal Executive to seek to reach an agreement with RM to improve and enhance the MDEC keying bonus. The motion was carried unanimously.
Bob McGuire moves motion 141 that calls for a review of CWU industrial training which would allow us to build smaller more specific courses that do not rely on accreditation, the motion was carried unanimously
Lenny and Ben move and support the last motion of conference which instructs the Postal Executive to achieve paid leave for attendance on the CWU mental health course, carried unanimously.
